What it is Ertaczo?

Ertaczo (sertaconazole nitrate) cream is a topical antifungal medication proven effective against the three major organisms that cause most cases of tinea pedis (athlete’s foot).

What Ertaczo is indicated for?

Ertaczo is indicated for the treatment of tinea pedis (athlete’s foot) caused by the fungi Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Epidermophyton floccosum. This product has not been tested on children 12 and younger.

How does it work?

Ertaczo inhibits the growth of the three major organisms that cause most cases of tinea pedis (athlete’s foot).

Sertaconazole nitrate, its active ingredient, works fast to offer quick relief from symptoms such as itching, and dry skin. It penetrates deep into the outer layer of skin – the epidermis – where fungal infections thrive, and it stays there, helping to fight fungal growth.

General Precautions:

Ertaczo is for external use only. Avoid getting it into your eyes, nose or mouth. Wash your hands after you’ve applied the medication.

Do not cover the affected skin with tight bandages or dressings unless your doctor tells you to. If you use Ertaczo after bathing, make sure you dry the area thoroughly before application.

If a reaction suggesting sensitivity or chemical irritation occurs, discontinue the medication and see your doctor or dermatologist.

Ertaczo should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Talk with your doctor or dermatologist.

Possible side effects:

During clinical trials, adverse reactions occurred in 2% of patients receiving Ertaczo and 2% of patients receiving the non-medicated cream base. Those reactions included mild local skin reactions.

For more detailed information about Ertaczo, ask your health care provider.
